Welcome from the Headteacher
Dear Parents and Visitors,
Welcome to our school website, I hope you find everything you need here to give you an overview and feel for our school. Our Learning Tab Heading shares with you how we are different to other schools and what make our school special. The Key Information Tab Heading shares the statutory information that all schools must have on its website.
I have led the school since September 2016, as I started here in an interim capacity. I quickly recognised the beauty of the local area and the incredible potential the school had to use the outdoors to promote wellbeing and learning. In 2017, I became substantive headteacher and began developing the site's future projects with the aid of all stakeholders.
I am fortunate to have an excellent team of staff, experienced governors and a supportive parent body to maintain our academic rigour and wider curriculum expectations. Our school's vision remains focussed on the use of the outdoors to enhance learning and to continue to bring the community together. We are inspired daily to create children who are 'Happy, Healthy Humans’ within hopeful conservation practices.
Our vision statement is rooted with a biblical reference. All families and children are welcome to our school:
‘At Streatley, together we grow as a tree within our community enabling us to be happy, healthy humans. “A tree is known by its fruit” Matthew 12:33. Therefore, our school is known by our children.’
Our children learn to use their voice and interests to question, to be curious and to inspire others. It is important to us that our children feel empowered by their actions. Climate change in the news can often be frightening to young people, so the children and staff support flora and fauna conservation. We discuss daily key issues wider than Streatley, we raise funds for a variety of charities throughout the year, and we volunteer in our communities.
You are welcome to visit our school. Our environment is calm and purposeful, our grounds are fantastic and surrounded by National Trust green spaces. Our staff, parents and children are thoughtful and supportive. Please ring the school office and visit us on one of our open mornings.
Kind regards,
Miss L Roberts
